EBC 2018 convinced us with an impressive mix of interesting keynotes, exciting case studies and the presentation of the Enterprise Business Collaboration Award, leaving us with an excellent first impression.
On 19–20 November, intranet experts and decision makers from the fields of enterprise collaboration, knowledge management and digital workplace met once again at the Enterprise Business Collaboration event in Berlin. Mindlab Solutions was also present at the trendsetting event for the first time. Over the course of two days, we had interesting discussions, got inspiration for innovation and enjoyed exciting presentations. However, it was not entirely about developing digital projects and choosing the right tools and technologies. With the aid of case studies, various companies reported openly and honestly on the main challenges and setbacks on the way to the digital enterprise.
In the opening keynote, Daniel Thomas (Lloyds Banking Group) told of his three-year journey, during which he changed the corporate culture at the company, which has 100,000 employees. With his agile, transparent approach, he answered clearly and simply about how social collaboration can support existing ways of working while also providing new challenges.
‘There can be no acceptance or business value without cultural change and management support.’ This is our conclusion from the two days at the EBC.
The use of social collaboration software always involves certain challenges. Here, intensive usage analysis through digital analytics can also help to improve the platform and user experience and thus ultimately bring about cultural change within the company.
